I'll tell you the truth: One of the most unnerving aspects of waking up in an ICU, having no idea why I am there, is the realization that my checking out could have been permanent. Last week two beautiful young women lost their lives all for the love of a dog. Jeffrey Lang addressed this subject in his book Losing My Religion: A Call for Help, so let me borrow some of his thoughts: “Worship in Islam is holistic. Tiffany and her friends stopped to aid a dying dog at the side of a road in Franklin Twp., New Jersey. Both deaths were tragic and senseless.
